Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29/04/2026
Protecting your privacy is a priority for Mendes & Silva - Law Firm. This policy briefly describes how we collect, use and protect personal data and technical website browsing data.
1. Data collected
We may collect data that you voluntarily provide through contact and consultation request forms, including name, email, phone number, country of residence, preferred language, legal area, availability and description of the situation submitted. We may also process technical browsing data necessary for the security, operation and measurement of the website, such as page visited, traffic source, language, device, campaign parameters and browser technical information.
2. Purposes of processing
Data is used to respond to your requests, assess the possibility of providing legal services, manage communications, comply with legal obligations, protect the website against abuse or spam, improve navigation and understand, statistically, how the website is used.
3. Forms and consultation requests
Information submitted through forms is used for triage and later contact. Submitting a form does not automatically confirm a consultation and does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship. Scheduling and consultation conditions depend on later confirmation.
4. Analytics and audience measurement
With your consent, we may use Google Analytics to measure visits, pages viewed, traffic sources and conversion events. We do not send your name, email, phone number, messages, case description or other personal data entered in forms to Google Analytics.
5. Legal basis
Processing may be based on pre-contractual or contractual steps, compliance with legal obligations, the legitimate interest of website security and management and, in the case of analytics cookies, your consent.
6. Technical providers
We may use technical providers necessary for website operation, hosting, security, email delivery, forms and analytics. These providers should only process data according to the applicable purposes and with appropriate security measures.
7. Retention
Data is kept only for the period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, for compliance with legal obligations or for the defence of rights. Cookie preferences are normally stored for up to 12 months, unless you delete browser data or change your choice.
8. Data subject rights
Under the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection or portability of your data, where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact us by email at [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority.
